Short break
This was a mixed visit with my friend. Whilst the majority of staff tried their best to accommodate guests, I had an unfortunate exchange with the owner over my dinner meal one night which was quite confrontational. Breakfast was a mixed as we had to ask for additional fruit, yoghurt to be served, coffee served in a huge urn. They would cook eggs to order so a change from the usual buffet items. Other guests did tell us that they felt breakfast was the worst meal of the day. I did enjoy a burger cooked well. There are 67 steep steps down to a small private beach and a bar where you can order food/drinks. Pool was very nice and lovely sea view. Our rooms were supposed to be seaside and I was told they would cut down some branches from a large tree for a better view from my room but this didn’t happen. I’d also add that there was one hairdryer for use and you had to ask at reception then return so bring your own! Overwll , this hotel is overpriced and relies on mostly European guests who want winter sun and on full board. There is nothing around the hotel and need to take a taxi into town. The island is beautiful and's enjoyed Mt Irvine Beach. Treat yourself to dinner or lunch at The Seahorse or Waves for a special meal. the Fish Pot was also good. In Scarborough, a visit to St George’s Fort is worth it for the views and the Museum. Overall, good for a short vacation but would look at staying on another part of the island closer to beach. Special thanks to Thessa.
