Special treatment!!

This stay was just exquisite and very luxurious. I did spend a little more on this hotel because it was my birthday and they definitely offered value for money beyond my expectations. Firstly all the staff greeted us pleasantly and with a smile any time of day or night. A great location with plenty of places to go, eat and shop just with a short walk or great public transport routes. The rooms in the hotel are 'out of this world' very cool, modern art décor that really 'pops' out at you, in the rooms as well as throughout the hotel. At check in the receptionist noticed it was my birthday the next day and handed me some expensive Belgium branded chocolates. We had also added breakfast and I thought why not treat myself while in this very luxurious hotel and I received a lovely surprise at the breakfast table. A beautifully decorated pear tart and all the staff gathered to sing 'happy birthday' to me which made me feel really special. Also later on that day when we returned to the room it had been cleaned with another little treat from another expensive brand. The hotel also had a rooftop pool and terrace and even though it was cold outside the indoor pool was a great place to relax. I would without a doubt stay at this Hotel again! One of my best experiences of a hotel in a long time. I did noticed they treated all the other guests really well regardless of if its your birthday or not! Extremely satisfied.

I love the decor and style of this hotel, but a few things let it down. It takes too long to check in - usually compounded by not enough staff but the process takes way too long with no value add except trying to cross sell breakfast. The lift wait times are unacceptable; on Tuesday around 18:00 I had to wait around 15mins to go to the 22nd floor. It felt like only 2 of the 6 lifts were working. Finally, the cups in rooms are too small and have no handles so you need tissue paper to drink hot drinks. Please more English breakfast tea in rooms - Brits tend to prefer it to fancy coffee.

The hotel is very masculine decor. The roof top pool is beautiful and the spa staff were brilliant. The noise between corridors and rooms with doors banging and even in the roof top pool isn't good and you can hear people in the street and multiple sirens throughout the night. It's a great location and 4 stops on the T4 from Midi. Everyone be is walking distance. People come up to the pool in outdoors clothes and wonder around which is so rude but should be stopped. I imagine it's rammed in the summer months.

The hotel itself was beautiful, super clean and the room was amazing correlating to the price per night. I will say it is next to a main train station which may cause some safety concerns for others but I personally felt fine. I do wish there was later food options in the hotel itself and I didn’t like too much that there was a lot of outside folks in the cafe area.

Nice building let down by poor service

Nice building and location, let down by poor service. When arriving at 20:00 our room wasn’t ready. TV and coffee maker didn’t work. Wifi was very poor, only worked in some spots and have to reconnect all the time. Contacted reception twice to resolve the issues, but they just ignored our request. Best to look for other hotel options, as this lacks basic services.

An enjoyable stay

A large modern and very clean hotel with large spacious rooms. We are a party of 4 and booked two rooms for 4 nights. We found the rooms well equipped and very comfortable with large king size beds. The spaces were exceptionally clean. There were a couple of issues with our stay that were not resolved however. 1. One room kept warming to 26 degrees when we left the space and despite reporting this issue no action was taken. The 'solution' apparently was to leave a door key in the slot but housekeeping removed these! so hey back to 26 degrees we went. 2. I booked the hotel rather than another on the basis of the pool facilities. These were closed for the entire duration of our stay. 3. Reception, rather finding reception, needs improving. On entering the hotel you are faced with a large unstaffed desk that looks like most receptions you have encountered. However the real thing is on floor 2! So in all, a good choice of hotel but I get the impression they are currently a little under staffed.

The property is good, newly renovated. Some things could be reinforced better, like the door handles to the toilet, as it is abit loose. Also the lighting can be brighter in some areas, as it maybe abit dark in some instances

Beautiful Hotel

The hotel was beautifully decorated. The location is really because it's only few steps from the metro & there's plenty of fast food & restaurants around the area.The only issue that we encountered was the noise, we stayed in Cardo Brussels for 3 nights and the loud noise coming from the room next to us (staff room), above us & even opposite our room,it is unbearable. The room is not sound proof. Especially if you want to have a rest until 8 or 9am as my husband & I were so tired travelling from one place to another. I found out that the banging loud noise was from the housekeeper,who are cleaning the unoccupied room.We are grateful that we were allowed to check in early as our room was already available but I think the housekeepers should be mindful of the people who are still resting/sleeping. But I will still stay in Cardo Brussels due to it's location & the aesthetic appearance of it.
