The picture is grossly misleading, and may even not be of this hotel. The carpets in my and my daughter's rooms were very badly stained, as were those in the public areas/corridor, the bathroom was disgusting, it was VERY noisy, and it was very very badly maintained. We left after 1 night. It was impossible to sleep. When person above walked across his room the whole ceiling moved and the very badly fitting windows rattled. Similar story with person next door. In terms of its adherence to regulations, I did not notice any smoke detectors in the public areas or my bedroom. I did not notice any exit route signage. In both cases I could possibly have missed them. My guess is that if this hotel were inspected it would be closed down immediately. A very shabby run down dump, masquerading as a decent hotel; in summary, a rip off. hotels.com should be ashamed of listing it, because it's their customers who are ultimately the victims of it's totally misleading pictures and general information.
State of door frame and wall in bathroom
Toilet with disgusting brown deposit on the ceramic tile
Shower soap tray with deposits dirt on it
Plug hole in sink - original plug had fallen out and now there is no grille and tap leaked so when it splashed in bottom of waste hole it was very loud

So upset, paid so much money to treat myself. The room was dirty, (have lots of pictures) even a dirty towel down the side of the bed, didn’t want to touch it. The windows were broken so could close to keep the noise out. It said would be toiletries so didn’t bring any, only shampoo left so couldn’t shower, but that was also because the blind was broken so couldn’t close it. Water noise in the bathroom all the time so with that and the noise in the room didn’t sleep. Paint falling off nearly all the walls, dirty walls and carpet. Will have to share on trip advisor and social media and watchdog, as it was awful. The price was nearly £168 pounds for one night, after seeing the room and crying tried to get another room but to pricey., as prices where up due to the rugby, only £60 the next day. Horrible experience.

My room was filthy, the carpet hadn’t been hoovered, the chair for the desk was broken, there was soap and shampoo left opened from the previous person and the bathroom needed a lot of TLC. How the owner can charge £144 is shocking

There is only someone at the desk from 3pm-8pm. The room I was in hadn’t been fully cleaned (toilet, floors, walls by coffee corner), the overhead light wasn’t working and the batteries in the remote were dead. There was no one around when I had the issue. It is in a great area to catch the bus or walk around.

The hotel was easy to find on a fairly main road Parking was expensive and only 3 spaces outside The carpet in the room was hugely stained No breakfast! Had to go elsewhere The room had a big (tried to be repaired) hole in the bathroom door, the window couldn’t be opened or closed as the catch was broken The shower head was broken & didn’t stay up! Had to have the shower head in my hands to wash! No staff! Saw one lady (briefly) at reception who game me a post it not with my room and hotel entry codes on Spoke to 3 other guests who were also disappointed with the price they had paid and felt the same way as me about the state of the place Plug sockets didn’t work (my phone didn’t charge!) Lampshades weren’t correctly fitted to the lamps! Will NOT be staying here again! Thought booking through Expedia guaranteed me some sort of standards! Apparently not!

The best part about this hotel is the location. Very central and lots of amenities and shops around. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Considering the price paid (£136 for a Saturday) I would expect much, much better. There was damp coming down from one corner of the room. There were multiple hairs on the toilet seat. The carpet was covered in stains and hadn't been treated in what looked like years. Bizarrely, there was an unopened pack of instant noodles in one of the desk drawers. Who knows how long they had been there. It made me wonder what else hadn't been seen to and cleaned before my arrival. Thankfully I only stayed for one night.

The hotel was ok in general, however my room at the back of the hotel wasn’t well cleaned. It had an outside door, and dirty boots had left bits on the carpet. My room had no towels and no toilet paper. You’d almost think they’d forgotten to service it. The staff addressed the issues promptly when asked. The hotel served my purposes, but wasn’t great.

Overpriced, shabby and not clean

Arrived to find that the on site parking was £20 and not £10 as promoted on this site. The carpet on the stairs was filthy and we walked 6 flights to discover that the electricity wasn't working. The bed itself had clean sheets and was comfortable but the bathroom door had what looked like blood or faeces on the frame. Would not walk in bare feet in the room because the carpet was filthy. Worryingly none of of the fire doors on the six flights of stairs would close properly. I chose this place because it was near where my daughter's student accommodation is but never again.

Hotel of horrors!

A two night stay of horrors! Gross online misrepresentation - nothing like the pictures!. I strongly advise against staying in this hotel. The carpets are so dirty you cannot walk barefoot. The curtains are ripped. Lack of sockets in the room and dirty shower which leaked all over the floor during use. It continued flooding and soaked the carpets after I had left the room. I was moved room after much debate with the male manager who tried to blame me for the flood!I moved room but on return after dinner found the codes (it operates a digital access code system) had been changed and I was locked out! Komal ( manager) was very helpful but if she hadn't been there I would have been a lone female in a very vulnerable position. This is not a hotel for lone female travellers! Rude male staff. Lack of facilities - no sign of any compensation despite numerous texts/emails! Avoid!!
