Overall, the property and the room felt dated, poorly maintained, and represented poor value for money.
For the whole of our 3 day trip, 2 of the 3 lifts were out of order, meaning a ~10 minute wait for an empty-enough lift from the 9th floor, which in itself was unacceptable enough.
The room itself is clearly in need of some refurbishment:
- the mattress was hard as a rock
- side panels under the radiator had falled off
- The bathroom was tired with cracked tiles
- The bathroom ventilation vent was caked with dust
- The bathroom door lock didn't work
- The noise insulation might as well not have existed - very easy to hear a conversation next door, and constant hallway noise
Additionally, two pillows had marks on, the tea/coffee/milks were not replaced during the room service, and there appeared to be an old stain or iron burn on the floor which hadn't been patched.
I would expect a lot better from a Marriott and given the amount of money paid, and could not recommend staying here based on this particular visit and room.
