Axalp is a peaceful mountain village above Brienz in the Bernese Alps, known for its fresh air, stunning mountain views, and direct access to nature all year round. In winter, enjoy true Ski-in/Ski-out access to the family-friendly Axalp-Windegg ski area. In summer, scenic hiking trails begin right outside the chalet, including the popular trail to Hinterburgseeli.

Just 30 minutes downhill, Brienz offers lake cruises, charming cafés, and the beautiful turquoise waters of Lake Brienz. Nearby highlights also include the famous Giessbach Falls, the historic Grandhotel Giessbach, and the open-air Ballenberg Museum.

Axalp is the perfect base for guests looking to enjoy nature, skiing, hiking, and easy day trips in the heart of the Swiss Alps.



Getting Around:

Axalp is best reached by car and offers convenient access with parking available at the property. The road to Axalp is scenic and well maintained year-round. In winter, snow chains or a 4WD vehicle may be helpful depending on weather conditions.

Public transport is also available: Brienz can be reached by train, and from there the Axalp PostBus takes you directly up the mountain. Once in Axalp, ski slopes, hiking trails, and local restaurants are all within easy walking distance.
