The room and ensuite were spacious and well appointed. Bed was excellent and room was clean. Large wardrobe for hanging. Bring an older hotel the floor was very noisy to walk on and the stairs were narrow which may cause some concern.

A short stay on the way to Devon for our anniversary. The hotel Good breakfast well cooked and good choice of cerials, fruit etc. Decor a little tired and dated needing a refresh The carpets in the room, stairs and coridors need deep cleaning or replacement.

Enjoyable stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and a good size. Evening meal very good but a bit pricey for desserts. Would be happy to stay here again.

Weekend away

Welcoming host and lovely breakfast highly recommend the food we really enjoyed it. Excellent value for money. The property is tired in places and our room was spacious rm4 again tired and needed attention to detail for example loo seat, didn't flush property and housekeeping needed attention saying that however for what we paid it was a, fair reflection on what we received. Wouldn't put us off a return.

The food at The Walnut Tree is excellent as is the service and the staff. The hotel is showing its age a bit in the bedroom but it was nonetheless very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room and the water in the bathroom were both very warm. The restaurant is worth a visit even if you’re not staying overnight.
