I stayed at this property 1.5 years ago and it was nice, so I booked again. Unfortunately this time I was deeply disappointed. I arrived on a Sunday at 11:40 am and nobody was at the reception, with a notice on the door that reception is closed from 12 to 3. The cleaning lady seemed unable to help with opening the luggage storage. The reception guy explained that on weekends the front desk as well as the luggage room is closed from 12 to 3, but I was not notified about this at booking - if I knew that earlier I would store my luggage at the train station and go explore the city. Instead I was strained in the common room with my luggage for more than 3 hours (with another traveler in a similar situation). Of course I could go back to the station to store luggage and come back later but that would cost an additional 5.6 Euro for public transport in Bremen.
Let's also put away the fact that no one was there at 11:40 when the notice says 12, and that no one picked up the so-called 'please call if in emergency' phone in the 3 hours when we were waiting.
At checkout, another receptionist said that I did not pay for the reservation. I showed him the confirmation email with proof of payment from hotels.com but he still seemed unconvinced. Oh well...
And for the hostel itself it was alright except the fact that there's no elevator.
Absolutely wonderful hostel experience. Located in the heart of the town but in a relatively quiet and residential part. Super helpful and friendly staff recommended a few places to visit. Reception initially made a mistake in my payment but it was solved without any hassle. In-room locker provided. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Didn't have the chance to have breakfast here but seems nice. Will definitely book again on my next visit to Bremen.
Not far from central tourist attractions. Clean and friendly rooms, but not much in the way of amenities. Expect nickel-and-dime charging for towels, soap, breakfast, etc.
I only stayed for one night vut enjoyed it a lot. The wifi was good, the bed was comfortable and my "roommates" were very polite.

The receptionist was very un professional. There was a problem between their system and hotels.com that she couldn't see my payment. I had to show my payment confirmation email but still she was refusing to check me in. It was at midnight after 18 hours of travelling for me! Then I told her to call her supervisor. She said no because he/she is asleep! And she added I must pay 25 Euros extra if she calls her supervisor and it turns out that I haven't payed the rent, as penalty fee! I don't know what was that and which rules she is working with. But that was the most ridiculous and unprofessional thing I heard at a check-in at a hotel. Some other minor things happened also but I put them into unlucky coincidences category not poor service.
