Things to do
Spend some time at the beautiful Lower Oder Valley National Park, where you can see an array of flora and fauna as well as enjoying great walking and other outdoor activities. Other great spots for nature include Spreewald, Barnimer Land, West Havelland, Schlaubetal, and Niederlausitzer Landrucken. You can enjoy biking, horse riding, and skating in various places.
Architecture and history
Architecture fans will like the imposing Eisenhardt Castle in Belzig, Reinsburg Castle, and the many delights in the old city of Potsdam. Favourite spots in Potsdam include the palaces and parks. Potsdam is the state capital, connected to Berlin by a magnificent bridge. The Glienicker Brucke holds an important place in history, having been the meeting place for secret agents from both sides during the notorious Cold War. Today, it is an interesting sight with lovely views. Petzow Castle is very pretty, and in Cottbus you can see churches, towers, old marketplaces, and museums. Frankfurt An Der Oder has a unique sight – a church with a decorative window that is thought to be the only such depiction of the tale of the Anti-Christ.
