Lift not working & o er 55 steps to room. Knob on four fell off Hairdryer not working unless hold boost button & yiu have to use from a drawer do I had my head nearly in the drawer to dry my hair No shower mat making bath quite slippy Plug not working in bath Stains over ceiling probably from previous leak and wallpaper bubbling on corner One bed very thin cover on yet other bed snd a proper quilt on

Parking has increased in pricing from £10.00 a night, then they take a deposit of £50.00 which is given after 10-15 working days which the receptionist kept saying we understand new management. The lift wasn't working still. This has been more than a year. So the receptionist puts us up on the 4th floor when I told him my partner has asthma can you put us lower and he said no. Also the key card given was dirty, he had to write in the keycard our room number rather than on a card envelope so we couldn't see our room number properly. Such a let down really. Checking in took alot longer as everything is done on a tablet and the receptionist sounded extremely rude. Not sure if I want to stay again and I should really ask for my money back as the room wasn't clean.

The building is lovely. However, work remains to be done, to make it an excellent place to stay. The guest rooms do not have refrigerators. The lift was out of service during my entire 10-day stay. One faucet in my room was not working properly. And the same breakfast is served every day, without change.

AVOID RUN & HIDE!!

Absolutely shocking, I was here with my family and as soon as we step foot in the hotel. We saw a woman screaming at the reception front office complaining about feaces and blood in the bed. We were in complete shock, as it was 11pm and it was too late to go anywhere else we had no choice but to get a room. There was no elevator and we had to walk up 3 larges series of stairs with suitcases and prams, no notice of this prior to booking. We got up 3 flights of stairs and one of the staff showed us to our room and what do you know there was already someone in there! They had double booked, we had to walk down 2 flights of stairs again! To another room and the key would not work!! I wanted a drink and the same staff member couldn't operate the till!! When we finally checked out and got home - I got a parking ticket/fine for parking in the car park without paying. EVEN THOUGH I DID PAY!!! I would not stay here again, even if they paid me :)

Old Station hotel has hit the buffers

Grand Victorian hotel with elegant spacious interiors. Stay ruined by broken lift, broken tvs, broken phones in rooms. Tried three different rooms and no signal or wifi in any. Only merit of staying was the price...cheap as chips.

Overall it was a disappointing experience. The lift wasn’t working and we were on the fourth floor. Upon arrival there were no towels in the room. We were supposed to get a bathtub but we got a shower instead. When we arrived for breakfast there was no food and we had to wait 15 minutes. However breakfast was the highlight of our stay. The quality was really good.

Lift was out of order and has been for weeks no mention of this and I have a bad back and I’m struggling to walk, asked for a change of room but nothing available, if I had known before hand I wouldn’t have booked and would have gone elsewhere. It feels like they just wanted your money and not bothered about fixing the lift!

Wrong check in information

The information we received prior yo our stay informed us that check in was 2pm (this is also shown on Google maps as the check in time), so we were disappointed that when we arrived shortly aftef 2pm, we were told that check in yime had changed to 3pm, so we had to leave our bags and return an hour later. Lift out of order could have bedn a problem for some visitors.

Lovely location. Just needs updating. Room extremely warm and tv only had a handful of channels. Reported via housekeeping on arrival but nothing done about it. Reported to reception on depart so hopefully time for maintenance to check before next guests.

When checking in, receptionist was processing a bill on the PC. That is fine, and after waiting 30 secs to be acknowledged in the first place, was told "won't be a mo". If a mo is just that, then ok, but after 3 minutes and a second attempt at processing the transaction I would have thought a quick "sorry it is taking a bit longer" would go a long was to keeping me from feeling I was hanging around unnecessarily. When finally checking in, impression was I was a bit of an inconvenience to her, albeit that could be because of the first bit above. Overall stay fine but that intial impression was not good.

The lift wasn't working and I have a elderly mother with angina so walking up 2 floors was a real struggle. There were no curtains or blinds in the bathroom. When I complained the manager tried to tell me the windows were slightly frosted on the outside which was a lie. He ended up putting a towel across the window with 2 glasses to weigh it down! There seemed to be what looked like dried blood on the carpet and the tv didn't work and was in a big frame which we bashed ourselves on trying to walk round the beds! Avoid this hotel.

LIFT DOESN’T WORK!

By far the worst service and some rude staff! I got there at 2am as u had to travel so had late check in.. the night staff/manager was so rude! The lifts haven’t been working for a while which they haven’t mentioned anywhere.. Gave me the highest floor despite seeing my heavily pregnant wife.. asked him to give us another floor rudely said we have nothing and says in a rude manner do you still want to check in or leave.. we had no choice taking so many stairs.. with luggage and no help! breakfast was ridiculously poor!!

Great disappointment of hotel.

No Wi-Fi in-our room,lift not working, were originally allocated a room on level 5, due to our mobility issues the hotel was informed it was impossible for myself and husband to climb up and down the stairs. We were then allocated 1st floor which still left us to walk up and down 33 stairs, which caused me to have breathing problems. I did contact the hotel previously as there was an issue with the lift months previously. I received an email stating the lift would be working for our arrival. When we went into the lounge for a drink, there was no person serving and waited so time on a member of staff appearing. When asking about evening meal, we were informed there was no restaurant, however there was a limited room service. We booked this hotel as is stated there was a restaurant available. Our room was not the clean, the carpet had 2 dirty black marks on the carpet as as entering the room, bathroom door had smears and finger marks on the door also the shower screen trifold would not stay in place also loads of sticky material on the bottom of the doors. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.
