Authentic small Périgord house with salt pool at the gates of SARLAT

Small stone house of about 35m2, comprising on the ground floor an equipped kitchen area, a living room with a table and 4 chairs, a sofa bed (rapido) and toilets.

Upstairs a bathroom equipped with a sink and a shower, a bedroom with a double bed of 140.

Outside a terrace with a parasol and a barbecue facing the forest.
A beautiful swimming pool (common to the 3 cottages) of 13.5m x 4.5m, will allow you to cool off all day long and will be particularly appreciated when you return from your visits.

A small haven of peace, the two hectares of Chantegrel in the Périgord Noir are there to make you forget your daily life. Only 3 km from the medieval town of Sarlat la Canéda and close to the main tourist sites (Lascaux, Les Eysies, chasms and caves, troglodyte village, castles of the Dordogne valley).

A pleasant stay in perspective in an authentic Périgord house

Don't worry, sheets as well as towels and tea towels are provided and your bed will have been prepared before your arrival.

You will be located at the gates of the capital of the Périgord Noir, renowned for its monumental adornment dating mainly from the medieval period and the beginning of the Renaissance (13th to 16th century). You will be able to appreciate its markets where the specialities of the region are sold: foie gras, duck breasts, truffles, ceps, figs and walnuts.

Gorgeous Gîte

We had a magical stay in January and had wonderful and rapid communication with the owners about our check in and check out. The Gite has everything you need and it's such a cosy and idyllic setting. We plan to stay again very soon!

Small country house

After an initial hic up in communication upon arrival the stay was very pleasant. The property matched their description exactly. The owner was very responsive to our questions thru the VRBO application. We would defiantly stay there again.

Misleading Information

This property is listed as 2 bedrooms, so we booked it on the understanding that it would be suitable for my mum, dad and me (an adult woman). However, the "second bedroom" was actually a sofa bed that was squeezed into a very tight space between the kitchen, kitchen cabinet, dining table and toilet. I was therefore camped out, having to move the dining table up against the wall to be able to open the sofa bed every evening (after which time we couldn't open the kitchen cupboard), and then put my bed away every morning and move the table back so we could sit around it again. There was no door to the bedroom upstairs, and my bed was right by the toilet, so I was getting woken up every night. 2 weeks of staying in this situation became much more of a struggle than the relaxing holiday we had envisioned. That, combined with unseasonal cold, wet weather, meant we chose to leave early. There were a few other issues - light bulb dying, gas running out so we couldn't cook that evening, internet stopping working for days (not their fault). The light bulb and gas were fixed by the owners fairly promptly. The internet is slow. I was unable to work from there as I had been expecting (checked in advance and was told it was fast enough). For a couple, I imagine it would be a really sweet place. However, it was totally inappropriate for 3 or 4 adults as listed. The owners said that they had listed it as 2 beds with1 bedroom so maybe the misleading info is VRBO's responsibility.

The small perigord house

Verblijf was top. Locatie ook. Heel compleet huisJE!
