Notes about Location:

Although Laurelwood is convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock, it is a true mountain cabin. State maintenance of the road ends before reaching the cabin. The last part of the drive before the cabin is maintained by the Sunset Acres neighborhood and is a gravel road that is steeper and not as smooth. AWD or 4WD is necessary. Being familiar with driving on mountain roads is definitely a plus!

We generally won't be on hand to welcome you to your private getaway. However, we will try to provide everything you will need to enjoy your stay.

The Neighborhood:

Located 10-15 minutes from either downtown Boone or Blowing Rock feel free to explore these towns. In winter be sure to visit Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain to enjoy the winter sports. Sugar Mountain is 25 minutes from Laurelwood. In Boone you may want to watch a game at Appalachian State. Or just take a pleasant drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway any time of year.

Although we do not allow pets at Laurelwood, we allow service animals. As such, this home is not guaranteed to be an allergy free home. Also, we have two exterior cameras mounted on the front porch and by the side entrance and both cameras face the front yard and driveway only. Video is recorded however audio is not.

Please review the lease agreement which becomes a binding contract once your booking is confirmed. You may request a copy of the lease agreement.

My family and I had an excellent stay at this rental. It was clear that the host is very meticulous about keeping the house very clean and full of helpful amenities. Diane was super welcoming and accommodating. It snowed during our visit and she had a snow plow come out and clear the driveway and road area. There was central and peripheral ( propane-power) heat along with a fireplace to make the cabin super cozy when the temperature got down to the single digits. The open loft arrangement made it perfect to have family "sleepover" time. My daughter took full advantage of the bunk bed, toys, painting station, and wooden car track. The hot tub was so relaxing and hot even with snow on the ground. We truly enjoyed ourselves and I highly recommend this cabin!

We had a wonderful stay at this home! It’s tucked away in the mountains, which made it feel peaceful and relaxing, yet it’s still very conveniently located close to everything we wanted to do. It was the perfect balance of quiet mountain getaway and easy access to nearby attractions.Diane was an outstanding host. She was very responsive and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. She even went out of her way to accommodate our family’s asthma and allergy concerns, which meant so much to us and made the trip far more comfortable.The house itself was spotless. You could tell a lot of care goes into keeping it clean and well maintained. One of our favorite things about the home was the lighting, it created such a calm, relaxing atmosphere in the evenings and made the whole space feel warm and welcoming.A special highlight was seeing deer outside almost every morning, it made the experience feel even more peaceful and special.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
