The a/c in the room struggled. Our tv did not work on the first day and we had to figure out how to fix it on our own. They had several large events which were loud and prevented us from enjoying the lounge as a group.

Just okay/serviceable. Room was modern, but dusty surfaces and dust bunnies on the ground. Shower lever was broken, but my husband was handy and fixed it. Front desk was just okay too when we asked for advice to get around. Also Expedia drink credit could only be used on alcohol, which was really stated and hotel wasn’t willing to accommodate with another beverage.

Our room was ready a little before the official check-in time which was good but we did avail ourselves of the complementarity water/prosecco/fruit juice bar in reception first! We were given a smart large deluxe twin room facing a courtyard. It was in good condition with a beautiful 'Liberty' style painted ceiling. It was a bit minimalist and the exercise bike was a gimmick. It would have been much better to have had some comfortable seating. The beds were two doubles and were the most comfortable on our short tour around Emilia Romagna. The female receptionists were less friendly than the male ones. Breakfast was in an old small theatre now incorporated into the hotel. Whilst it was not overly lavish, it it was of a very high quality compared to what we had been having in other hotels and a good balance between sweet and savoury offerings. The coffees came from the hotels public cafe and were terrific. The yogurts were of particular note! The breakfast staff were excellent, all very helpful and friendly and they ran a tight ship. The hotel has three restaurants, a cafe, a pizza/pasta restaurant and in the evening a Michelin starred restaurant. There is a lovely bar with terrace over looking a park behind the hotel. We had drinks there one early evening and the staff were excellent.

My room was windowless, freezing cold (with no option to adjust the heat), and the WiFi signal was so weak and intermittent that it was effectively nonexistent. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, and the hotel is surrounded by loud, unsightly and inconvenient construction (that was not disclosed).

The location is very good for access to the Center Of the Action both cultural and gastronomic. The have a small parking lot on location if you decide to drive and are located one block out of the restricted area for cars. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff. I did have to follow-up ona request for soap and TP even spoke to housekeeping staff directly. On Complaint I have is these overly complicated and integrated AC systems… During a 4 night stay we were with out AC and because a technician was gone for the day or some sort of software control issue we were uncomfortable …. There was not wrong with the cooling equipment… I know that this eco-and environment nonsense is everywhere but when you are paying top dollar you should be both completely comfortable and be able to control your HVAC UNIT as you like … not have it turn off when you leave the room or regulated by some faceless system or the front desk. This is a problem across the industry but extremely problematic when the units can not QUICKLY respond to a call for quick cooling of the room.

I paid $585 and $565 per night for two rooms early May. I was hoping to find a nice hotel for a Mother’s Day trip for my mother. I could have dished out some additional money and stayed at one of the five-star hotels, but this was my effort to ensure a nice experience without spending an amount I would regret. The rooms were nice and clean. The more expensive one was on the fourth floor and had high ceilings and ample sunshine. Its charm was slightly detracted by the awkward exercise machine in it. The one I stayed in with my partner and baby was on the second floor. I suspect it was an upgrade because it had another very small bed. But since I had an infant that was not something we could use. There were arched windows at the base of the rooms, and we were under the portico so it was rather dark. I don’t expect early check-in, but since we had arrived on a train that got us in at 8 AM we figured we would check our bags. We were told that at least one of our rooms would be ready early (within the hour) and that they would call us when ready. We went to have lunch and never received a call. At 2:40pm our early check-in was finally ready. The other room at 3PM. I’m not that upset about this but I wish they would be more careful about creating false hope. For a fairly expensive 4-star hotel I was surprised that there was no lotion or conditioner. Empty body wash pump also. Breakfast was enjoyable (standard options of pastries/yogurt/eggs/cold cuts, cheese, smoked salmon).

Tv is working automatically with comining to room, air conditional working all the time to hot. Our room was with out walking some metres, so we need outclothing to go breakfast.

A charming hotel in the heart of Bologna, perfect for a short stay. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the city. While the room and bed were on the smaller side, they were comfortable enough for a one-night stay. However, the bathroom could use some improvements— the shower didn’t function properly, and we had towels for one person. For a 4-star hotel, I expected a bit better. With a few upgrades, this could be an even better choice.
