Nice hotel but breakfast needs improving

Our welcome was lovely with a warm cookie and our toom was upgraded to one of the new rooms. The room was great, although the bathroom was a squeeze. The only thing to bring my review down from 5 stars was the breakfast. The staff at breakfast were not very welcoming and we had to ask about food being topped up. We arrived at 1030 with 30 mins of breakfast service still to go and lots of the pastries cold meats and other bits were being topped up.

Room was spacious and very clean would love to know where you get your pillows. Breakfast was not great. Bacon actually cold. When there were no fried eggs the staff kindly advised us they were on the way. Seconds later they were served directly on my plate perfectly cooked. It was very busy and people are greedy!!! Coffee lovely. Had an amazing nights sleep. Great location.

Everything was excellent except i'd have loved to have a kettle and some tea or coffee in the room as has been the case in every hotel i've stayed in. I should be able to have a cuppa without going downstairs. Apart from that, everything was super. Unfortunately, i have no photos.

A very relaxing evening

Didnt use gym,WiFi very stable. Staff very pleasant and knowledgeable. Beautiful building,solid feeling,quiet and peaceful. Had a couple of drinks in the bar and that was a relaxing area(loved the jazz music)

Room was clean and tidy, food was good if not a little expensive for what you get (like most hotels in a city). I’d probably stay again but eat elsewhere or order in food.

The lifts were very clunky and need maintenance. The receptionist spoke very quickly and could not understand her. The toaster at breakfast did not toast. Sourdough loaf was dry, and not fresh, no knife to cut it. Not labelled.

We liked everything about the hotel. The only possible thing we were not too keen on was that the breakfast room was a little on the small side and we felt a bit cramped in there. Otherwise - full marks!
