The pool deck features two dining tables and a third overflow folding dining table in garage (for maximum seating for up to 16) , a Weber gas grill, and a shady covered porch area.

Overall, the location is very close to the beach and the house is as described. The house is centrally located. As others have stated, when outside/in the backyard it is very loud. The property was ready early for check in, however there was not a through cleaning done before our arrival. The property had seemingly not been mopped or vacuumed in quite a bit, pool filter was not emptied etc. Beds were not comfortable, likely time for mattresses to be replaced.

My family and I loved staying in this home. There was plenty of space and many gathering areas for the 10 of us, and the pool was terrific. The elevator was extremely helpful for our disabled loved one. Would definitely stay here again!

Great house but!

The house needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Walls, baseboards, trims floors, windows, stove all these things need to be attended to.. this was our second visit, and some of the same issues from our last visit were still visible this time as well.

Wonderful beach home

This property met all our needs. More than adequate for our party of 12. There were other coffee makers but we chose to bring a Keurig. Does need a better can opener. Great to have 2 refrigerators. Convenient to Bethany and Rehobeth. Enjoyed the beach and the pool. Since the temps were high 80’s to 90’s, appreciated the partial shade at the pool. Being along Rt 1 was noisy outside at times but not a deal breaker. Running the ceiling fan was necessary to keep the temp manageable on the 3rd floor only when the outside temp went above 90. Elevator was a plus. Everyone agreed that we would love to stay there again.

Great Stay, we’ll be back!

The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved having a pool, that was a huge perk. We were only about 2 miles from the State Park beach and highly recommend that beach over the public access beach. We loved all the restaurants, and downtown Bethany was a short drive, perfect for ice cream trips! I had zero issues when I needed to get in contact with Alex for a few things, I was responded to very quickly. We can’t wait to come back!

House far from beach. 24 hours a day road noise

House was ok. Pool was very cold as it was in the shade most of the day. A heater is needed. House was so close to major road that it was impossible to be outside on the decks and even by the pool it was loud. For the cost of the house, we were all very disappointed as the situation dampened our spirits and made the week difficult for enjoying our time there. The noise also disrupted sleep partially on in the bedroom on the road side of the house. We will not return.

Great Family Vacation!

We had a great time on our family vacation in Bethany. The house was exactly as presented and had ample space for everyone. The private pool made the vacation even better and the location to the beach was close enough for even a quick trip!

Our stay at Bethany Cottage was perfect for our family!

We loved our stay at Bethany Cottage! There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was well equipped with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the pool surrounded by beautiful blooming hydrangeas. It was a great family vacation!

A perfect location and great amenities

We have stayed at Bethany Cottage 3 times and value the private pool and elevator so much. We have two people with mobility issues, and the elevator is a godsend. We also love how close it is to the Indian River Delaware State Park beach -- and the fabulous Big Chill there.

Spacious enough for our entire family

This property was perfect for us, our 2 adult children, their spouses, and 2 grandkids. The beds are super comfortable, the pool is wonderful, it has a very nice gas grill and off-street parking for 3 to 4 vehicles. There are several beaches just a mile or two away. We’re looking forward to going again next summer!

Family Together

Having the family together is what vacation is for us. This house allowed us to do that. The biggest disappointment was the temperature of the pool. We wanted a pool since we had young children who still needed an afternoon nap. The pool was so cold that most of our group could not get in it. Most of the afternoon sun, that was to warm the pool, is blocked by the house. Knowing that the goal is always to satisfy your guests, I would recommend that an investment of a heater be made. We like the area, but without the use of the pool, it's just a house.

Super comfy house and convenient location

Super cute house with lots of options and room to allow for distance between parties. In our case, it was some adult vs. kid space. Joe & Alex are great communicators and very responsive. The pool would have been great if the weather was warmer. And the beach is just a short drive away. You can see the ocean from the patio and we did lots of yoga on the second floor balcony. It can be loud though because of proximity to the highway (there was a public works project happening during our stay). The house has all the amenities that you need for cooking and relaxing. We had a wonderful time!

John and Alex were great host. Everything worked and was easy to use/figure out. Tons of beds and a great layout for entertaining. Wish it was warmer so we could’ve used the beautiful pool more.

Great location and pool, but needs updating

Great location with great outdoor space. The pool was very nice and well maintained. It was cleaned twice during our week long stay. You could not hear the traffic from inside the house even though it is right on route 1. However, it's time for the owner to reinvest inside the house. It is very dated and could use an extra deep clean. Many things are well past their time, like the coffee maker, carpets, and bedding. Would not likely rent again unless interior improvements were made.
