Property is great. Had all the amenities we were looking for our stay. The owner was responsive with the few requests we had. Looking forward to going back next year! Check-in was easy with a lockbox. Plenty of tools in the kitchen.

We absolutely loved Sarah’s place. Ideal location for visiting the area with kids. The house was very clean, well equipped, and we all had a blast in the game room. The location next to Cacapon State Park was great. We had a wonderful time at the lake. We would definitely recommend staying here and we hope to come back in the future!

Nice secluded home

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted a spot for Thanksgiving that was close enough for me travelling from NC and my family coming in from PA. None of us had been to the Berkely Springs area and nothing disappointed. The area is awesome, right across the road from the state park, the house is terrific and just what we all needed, and the owner was just the best!

Very chill cabin

If you wanted to have some competition in the basement with friends in ping pong, pool and darts you can hangout down there all night and have a good time. If you want to watch tv with a cozy fire, upstairs could keep you comfortable all night. Overall a great place to stay no matter what you want to do on a weekend awah

Nice Visit to the Lancaster Lair

MY wife and I and the dog had a relaxing 4-day visit to Berkeley Springs.. The Lair was conveniently located and would be great for a family visit. We enjoyed hanging ion the deck and n the upstairs living room and lighting the wood burning fireplace. We also made good use of the downstairs pool table, dart board and AV setup. Very convenient to the Cacaton park and its hiking trails.

Very Pleasant Stay

The house had everything we needed for a lovely three day family gathering. The weather had turned cool so we really enjoyed the plentiful wood provided for fires in the fireplace. The kitchen is better stocked than most with lots of pans, kitchen tools and plenty of dishes and glassware. Our only concern was that there’s barbed wire in several places near the house which could be a problematic surprise when walking the dog.

FOUR DAYS AT LANCASTERS LAIR

TOO MANY STEPS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS. THE CONDITION OF THE PROPERTY WAS AS ADVERTIZED. SARAH WAS MOST ACCOMMODATING AND INSURED US OF A PLEASANT VISIT. THIS IS A VERY ENJOYABLE PROPERTY THAT VRBO HAS LISTED.

Serene and beautiful

This well furnished and spacious house is set among the trees in a quiet, lovely, wooded neighborhood. It is directly across the entrance to the Cacapon State Park and is a wonderful retreat. The only down side is that it does depend on well water, so you don't have an unlimited supply of water. We rationed our showers and kept them short, and bought bottled water to drink, and we had no problem.

Weekend with Friends

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights with friends at Lancaster's Liar. Sarah, the host, was wonderful and easy to communicate with. The home is located in a small vacation home community but out of sight of neighboring properties and is very quiet. We definitely hope to come back soon!

Just got home. The house was as pictured and described. Very clean and comfy, situated within a gorgeous community. Close to state parks, groceries, etc. Property manager was very responsive, even late on a Saturday night. Would gladly go back.

My three friends and I had a delightful time. Any utensil you could need in kitchen, chalet ceiling in living room. Enjoyed the table tennis and billiards, comfortable beds, great deck - highly recommend Lancaster Lair.

Great cabin getaway

We had a great time spending a winter weekend at Lancaster's Lair. The cabin was clean and well cared for and the owners seem to care about making it a great place to stay. From arrival to departure we had absolutely no issue's. We typically bring most of everything we need but we noticed the kitchen was well stocked had we forgotten anything. The cabin features great views, a nice wood fireplace with ample wood (and starter sticks) and the basement game room is a plus. Sarah the property manager was great to communicate leading up to our stay. I most definitely will return again!

Winter Get Away

What an amazing cozy comfortable winter get away home located on the hill with a absolutely breathtaking view of the mountains from the wrap around deck. The house is spacious, clean, and the basement has a wonderful game room accommodating for adults who like to play pool, shoot darts and play ping pong. The kitchen provides everything needed to prepare and serve meals including many gadgets and wine glasses. The fireplace is very easy to use as the plenty of fire wood is right out the door with fire starters provided to help start a beautiful fire that heats the entire great room. Most spectacular part of the visit to the mountains while staying at Lancaster Lair was the sunrise over the snow capped mountains. The snowfall and the comfortably made the stay magical to the point that we wished that our stay could be extended. Can not wait to return in the fall as I hear from the locals that the view is even more breathtaking.

Very spacious cabin

The cabin easily accommodated 6 adults. It was clean and the downstairs room was great for hanging out. There’s a bbq truck in a parking lot about 10/15 minutes away that was delicious.
