Hotel Silvio was very nice. We loved the balcony! The balcony had a tiny table and two chairs. Perfect for morning tea. The restaurant was fancy and pretty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The air-conditioning worked well!
My only issue and advise ----when you get off of the ferry catch the bus (reasonably close) to the hotel. The bus runs on the hour. Do NOT count on taxis! Lugging the suitcase up the hill was difficult. However, I am in my 50's, have a bad knee with 40 extra pounds on me. However, once you get the luggage into the hotel, the 10 minute walk into the heart of the town isn't too bad. Being away from the heart of town had its perks. It was quiet and we had a splendid view of the water from our balcony. It was also nice to go downstairs at the end of our day and have a glass of wine in the courtyard, with all its pretty lights and attentive staff. The elevator was a little "iffy" at the time, so the receptionist carried our bags up the stairs. They were very helpful there.... really more than any other place we stayed. I would stay there again as long as I had a ride up the hill.
