The room was tiny and not at all as pictured. The shower only has a rain shower and no bath cloth is provided. Water pressure is non existent and because the ceilings are high the water temperature is never hot. No in room fridge. We requested another room but we’re not accommodating at all. Breakfast is not included. The hotel is very charming and fitting with the ambience and culture. Staff is courteous. Location made up for the inconveniences.

Too stupid to operate the sauna!

extra paid for a sauna in the room. Having read the instructions we could not get it to work. I explained when I was leaving. I was told that I must not have read the instructions and if I had called somebody they would have got it working. That is what normally happens. To me this says there is an on going problem. I was offered a cake for my disappointment. Not good enough.

Friendly staff & very polite, hotel is situated in the center of Groningen & approximately a15min walk from the train station. Plenty of choices for breakfast, certain areas of the hotel are in need of decorating along with new carpets ( tripping hazard) did not see any wheelchair access

Cozy hotel on the very energetic market square

Fantastic cozy hotel in the heart of Groningen overlooking the market square. The older hotel, which was renovated perhaps 20 years ago, is a beautiful old building. The staff was pleasant, and the rooms are generous in size for northern Europe. The bathroom was large and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Room temperature was great. The only challenge is that it is on the market square and Groningen has an energetic nightlife--so bring your large earplugs, as the partiers are out all night long and the windows are hardly sound proof.

I really liked the location. A stone's throw from a number of key city centre attractions and a great place to sit at the terrace facing the Grote Markt and enjoy the folks walking by. The only area of improvement is the coffee - consider upgrading the coffee machine as this would bring the experience to a perfect boutique hotel level!
