Disliked: Cleanliness
Maintenance is needed...
You’ll be saying “fiddlesticks” quite a bit here...
Hatteras realty collects the money from the owners but takes no time to fix things that need fixing and doesn’t bother sanitizing either! You get let in at 5pm on your first day of vacation and it’s for no reason because it’s not CLEAN.
We arrived and found multiple long strands of hair stuck to dining chairs and hair in the freezer along with crumbs on counter and no smell of cleaners to be found. This was disturbing.
The vacuum does not really do anything and Disposable bag inside of it was Full and filthy.
So we couldn’t even clean up after our kids or clean up after “housekeeping.”
Day 2 one my 4 yr old nieces punctured her foot in two places on exposed nails on stairway to loft. Later that day my 3 yr old niece fell sideways down the steps due to very poorly designed, narrow and steep HALF steps on loft stairway. Huge hazard for kids AND adults (and there’s no way you can put a baby gate on those steps either.)
Our private beach access had to get taken down due to its instability and leaving on Day3 and was not finished until Day6.
Otherwise- I appreciated the pantry space, the playpen provided and outdoor showers.
Thank you to the owners for providing a house for us but the house does need some work and attention to detail as far as making sure basic upkeep such as carpeting and lights and fans are all working. AC unit seems to be inconsistent as well. Our whole family agreed we would go through freezing cold hours of sleep at night to burning up hot in the same night? Very strange.
