The Old Bank House is a beautiful historic country home in the heart of Avenel, offering a stay with genuine character, warmth and a story stretching back to 1873.

Originally associated with the Bank of Victoria, the house retains many of the features that make an old home feel wonderfully individual, including lime-washed timber walls and ceilings, original fireplaces, beautiful old windows and doors, and rooms that open onto the garden and verandah.

Inside, the house has been thoughtfully furnished to complement its history while providing the comfort of a relaxed contemporary stay. Two beautiful bedrooms, inviting living spaces and carefully chosen furnishings create a home that feels generous, comfortable and completely individual.

Outside, established gardens surround the house, with mature trees, fruit trees, vines and remnants of Avenel’s nineteenth-century story all around you. It is a lovely place to slow down, sit outside with a coffee or glass of wine, and enjoy the rhythm of a historic country town.
