This fully restored 1930s wooden house combines vintage charm with modern comfort. Located atop a wooded lot, it offers stunning views of Lake Orford and breathtaking sunsets from the spa or terrace. A private lakeside lot with a dock provides easy swimming access. In winter, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended to reach the parking area (winter tires are mandatory). Perfect for a peaceful stay surrounded by nature, this chalet is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.



Entirely restored and made of wood, this 1930s house offers a unique and authentic charm. The large granite fireplace and cathedral ceiling in the living room create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.



Perched atop a vast wooded lot, the chalet offers breathtaking views of Lake Orford. Relax in the spa or on the terrace to enjoy an exceptional panorama and admire the region’s most stunning sunsets.

Cozy quiet comfort

We did a weekend getaway with our kids (6 & 9) and a friend. The property is bigger than pictured! Great kitchen, large table for dinner and board games. Scenery onto the frozen Lac Orford was beautiful and there was no one in sight. Quiet and relaxing house at the top of a (steep) hill.

This is a lovely modern cottage centrally located near Orford, Magog and Eastman. Many activities to do nearby. Cottage very clean and well stocked with everything you need. Outside area with hot tub, chairs, fire pit and dining set were very comfortable and a lovely place to hang out. Lake Orford is a beautiful clean lake. Dock area is across the street a few minutes from the house. Traffic and a local train are abit noisy. I would come again!

Lovely house, lovely view

A beautiful place to use as a jumping off spot for hitting the slopes. Well appointed kitchen, but no spices or other staples. Comfortable beds, except one of the beds in the upstairs loft which needs some slats replaced. Lovely hot tub overlooking the lake. The driveway is very difficult to get up in the winter without a four-wheel drive vehicle, but there is some nearby alternative parking. Great communication from the hosts.

Hiker’s Dream Location

Exceeded expectations! Photos were accurate to reality. Was close to some of the best and scenic hiking trails our group of 5 adults have ever experienced. Coming back from hike to the hot tub with view of the lake was perfect end to a day! Just a short drive to town of Eastman for all amenities, like groceries or hardware needs. And frequently stopped at Dora’s for fabulous pastries and donuts. Only downside for some maybe that the cottage is on a hill overlooking the lake and is only accessed by going down the hill and crossing a main road. But, the week we went was cooler weather so didn’t care. We were much happier looking at lake from hot tub than swimming in it. Would go back again in a heartbeat!

Le seul inconvénient c'était que nous avons eu chaud pour dormir car il n'y pas d'air climatisé. Même avec des ventilateurs nous n'avons pas peut bien dormir à cause de la chaleur.

Not bad - weird experience

Nous avions réservé le chalet pour vendredi et samedi. Le vendredi s'est bien déroulé. Le chalet n'est pas un chalet 5 étoiles tel que décrit, mais il est bien. Il aurait besoin de rafraichissement en général au niveau de la salle de bain et du sous sol afin. Le samedi, nous sommes revenu d'une activité en milieu d'après-midi. J'ai été voir le quai qui est à 5-7 minutes à pied. J'ai constaté que l'espace du quai était impraticable. J'étais plutôt en colère d'avoir payé une prime afin d'avoir accès à l'eau et arriver sur un espace qui manquait beaucoup d'amour (photos à l'appui). À mon retour vers le chalet, la voisin m'a abordé avec une certaine attitude et sans raison, m'a indiqué que si l'on faisait du bruit (moi et ma famille), elle contactait automatiquement la police après 11h. Je ne l'avais jamais vu et nous étions absent toute la journée. Qu'elle expérience ordinaire. La cerise sur la gâteau : J'ai payé 1000$/nuit pour ce chalet «correct» et aucun accès. Je ne sais pas comment VRBO fonctionne. C'était un des seuls chalets disponible lors de ma recherche en mars/avril 2024, mais par la suite plusieurs chalets ont été rendu disponible à beaucoup moins cher par nuit. Il ne faut pas se m'éprendre, j'ai la capacité de payer 1000$/nuit. J'ai loué un chalet à Cap à l'aigle, Massif du sud (prévu août 2024), Val-St-Come, et j'ai logé dans des chalets de grande qualité à des prix parfois moins élevés. C'était la dernière fois que je me servais de VRBO.

Petite déception

Je m'attendais à avoir sur papier en arrivant un mot de bienvenue ainsi que le code Wifi et les différentes informations sur l'équipement électronique du chalet. Je comprends que ces informations étaient sur le Net mais cela nous aurait éviter de chercher. La chambre de style "dortoir" au 2e étage n'est pas très pratique pour des adultes et une salle de bain au 2e aurait été appréciée. C'est un chalet confortable mais sans plus. Nous avons aimé notre court séjour mais nous ne retournerions pas dans ce chalet.

Nous avons passe une excellente semaine de Noel avec nos enfants et petits-enfants dans la maison . Elle est spacieuse, confortable, pratique, bien equipee, bien situee. Séjour à l’Australe

En général c’était très bien. Le chalet en soi est bien représenté dans les photos. Le terrain est bien. Nous aurions aimé avoir un peu plus d’équipement de base tel que papiers de toilettes, serviettes, sel et poivre… nous n’avions que 4 rouleaux pour 8 personnes pour 4 jours, ce qui était insuffisant. Aussi, l’accès à l’eau était décevant : un minuscule accès non entretenu avec les herbes très hautes. Pour le reste, nous étions satisfaits de notre séjour.
