We were very disappointed with our stay — or rather, the fact that we couldn’t stay — at this property. Upon entering the unit, we were immediately struck by a strong odor of smoke and what smelled like marijuana. The air quality was poor and absolutely not suitable for our children. Despite the clean photos and great reviews, the actual experience did not match expectations.We contacted the host right away but were told she was 40 minutes away and couldn’t come until after 7 PM to assess the situation. That simply wasn’t workable, especially with young kids and the urgent need to find alternative accommodations. The host later claimed the unit was “ready for check-in” and even suggested that Atlanta’s humidity or the unit’s brick features might have been the issue — neither of which explained the very obvious smoky smell.Unfortunately, the host has refused to issue a refund, even partially, despite the fact that we could not stay in the unit at all. The whole experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We would caution future guests — especially families — to be wary. The listing does not reflect the on-the-ground reality we encountered.
