Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Avoid this property and the management company JRE. I have never left anything other than a five-star review in Jordan. Hospitality comes naturally, and hosts are generally very gracious. Not in the case of 9 Antica. The check-in process was a goose chase of poor communication and wrong locations to obtain keys, that took hours. The apartment was filthy with a terrible smell, hair in the bathroom sink and shower, a dirty refrigerator, kitchen in disrepair, and a visibly dirty couch. They tried to claim that the smell was from cooking next door, but when they offered to clean the apartment while we waited even longer, the housekeeper's mop was putrid. The smell extended to the hallway and elevator, which had been cleaned with the same materials. They offered us a different location on the other side of Amman, 45 minutes to an hour's drive away. The location where they sent us for keys had three parties shouting at the management while we waited unaddressed for an hour. We asked for a refund and were flatly refused. We felt that we could not feel assured that even the sheets were clean, so we did not stay, even though, after wasting four hours, we had to quickly find other accommodations. This made us sad as we fear that this company reflects poorly on Jordan, especially for first-time visitors.
