The front staff person upgraded us to one of the newly renovated suites. The room was fantastic. The rest of the staff were excellent and went out of there way to help us whenever we needed it.

Check in was super slow, our room wasn’t ready at check in time 4pm, they staff was very pleasant though and they did give us $20 off the restaurant to make up for it which was appreciated. However Altos restaurant was also pretty terrible, we waited over 20 minutes after being seated before a waitress came (I had to ask 3 staff members to find someone for us) the restaurant had only 10 people eating in it in total so it wasn’t a “busy” issue. The food itself was pretty awful, the Mac and cheese for kids is literally boxed Kraft Dinner which took 45 minutes to make and the buffet roast beef was way over cooked, tough and chewy, the desserts and salad bar was really good though. Our room was nice and spacious we had a 2 bedroom suite, the beds were nice and comfortable. However the noise from the hallways carries all through out the room even to the back bedroom, all night we could hear people running up and down the hallway, yelling in the hallway, slamming doors etc. Also they need better curtains as the lights from other businesses shine through all night and then as soon as the sun came up our room was super bright. The couch in the sitting area of the room is also terribly uncomfortable, the cushions constantly sliding off. The hotel pool was great the kids really enjoyed it, but they were completely out of towels in the pool area (again not very busy, we were there on a Sunday night) about 5-12 people in the pool at all times, hot tub was also broken.

Found ourselves stuck in Winnipeg to to a storm which shut down all of southern Manitoba. Desk staff was very good. The room itself left something to be desired as far as cleanliness goes. Found a false eyelash on the vanity stuck to the tissue box and a hairband on the floor along with several white fuzzies. Could also see that things had been lightly dusted as there was a spot under each TV leg that had not been addressed for a while. Resturant service and food was good and attentive. Housekeeping needs to step up their game.
