All benefits of convenience were there. I have stayed at the Valley Hotel before, and it has clearly maintained its quality. One minor issue though, in cold and wet weather, the sloping car park needed care to negotiate, as ice was a hazard. However, I am not aware of any accidents or falls.

Upon arrival there was no receptionist to greet us and another guest went to retrieve someone from the staff party who wasnโ€™t officially working. We therefore werenโ€™t given our vouchers and a full check in. The hotel was clean enough but freezing, Ourselves and other guests were very cold. We were told it was due to the hotel being closed over Christmas and it needed to warm up. Whilst I understand that, maybe the building should be preheated for the comfort of its guests and staff. It made for freezing showers, cold rooms and cold dining. The breakfast was very nice and quick service. There is no extraction in the bathroom leaving puddles of condensation. Beautiful area and walks around with an antique fair and museum nearby which was an enjoyable couple of hours and free entry.

Staff were very good and helpful. Lady on front desk very pleasant on check in. And the meal in the restaurant was delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹ and the staff in the restaurant very good and helpful with my coeliac diet. Only negative was the wall's were paper thin and we could hear everything from next door. Especially in the bathroom. We did enjoy the stay. Was easy to walk to the bridge from the hotel as well.
