"Nice enough resort with a great view."
We stayed at Peppers Airlie Beach as a couple for 2 nights. It was fortunate we hired a car as the resort is up a VERY steep hill from the road and each apartment block requires more walking up steep hills. Elderly or infirm guests would find this very challenging. Fortunately our apartment could be reached via a lift from the car park. Our room was clean, a bit stuffy and a stain or two on the rug but otherwise pleasant and a good size. We had lovely views from the apartment as does the pool and restaurant. Breakfast was pretty basic buffet style, the fruit on offer was substandard bruised bananas, apples and mandarins. Only one juice was available on one morning (orange). We stayed in a spa apartment which I wouldn't bother with as the spa is so large it leaves very little space for space for storing toiletries, the vanity units are tiny. The pool and spa looked inviting but as with most resorts not heated so we didn't swim. The resort has a weird layout, the room was pleasant and would most likely suit couples as the drop off the balcony would be a worry if you had little kids.

"A little walk to the Hub."
This was a magnificent apartment complex with a very helpful and enjoyable owner. Just be aware of the steep walk to get to the resturants and local bars.

"Was only there for one night, so it did the job"
Very disappointed about the condition of the room, bed linen was dirty/stained, main lights in room and bathroom didn't work, only had bedside lamps to use for lights. Usually hair dryers, Ironing board and irons are standard in rooms but there were none of these items in our room.

"hotel with ocean view but a bit noisy"
There is no staff for late check-in. our room is compact but with a balcony facing the ocean. we had a lot of fun on it. the room is full of sunshine in the morning. the room type is bay view instead of ocean view which confused me for a while

A town on the banks of the Proserpine River with a population of almost 4,000, Proserpine was named after Persephone, the Greek goddess of fertility. And a fertile place it is too! With cattle-grazing land and fields full of sweet sugar cane, it’s a hub of industry for the Whitsundays area. A stay in Proserpine will have you waking up to cane fields and palm trees, country-style pubs and quirky boutique shops, and mountains on the horizon. Take a wander through some of Main Street’s laneways to find one-of-a-kind bargains, or drop into a restaurant or cafe for friendly Proserpine service. Love coffee? Take a tour of the Whitsunday Gold Coffee plantation to see how your morning cup of Joe is made, and then satisfy your cravings at the Roastery.

You don’t have to go far for a swim, walk, picnic or lush scenery. Take a 20km trip to Cedar Creek Falls, a secluded swimming spot where fresh water cascades down a rocky waterfall. The area is surrounded by trees like strangler figs and, of course, cedars, and if you’d rather stay dry you can take a walk up the falls for a sweet view. In the other direction, 25kms inland from Proserpine is Lake Proserpine, also known as Peter Faust Dam. It’s a king-sized body of water teeming with barramundi and popular with the fishing folk. But you don’t have to cast a line to enjoy it. With a boat ramp, picnic area and children’s playground, it’s a great place to have family lunch, go for a little sail or indulge in some water skiing.

Ready to meet some crocodiles? Croc yourself out on the Proserpine River Eco Tour, with a boat ride down the river and the chance to see these scaly characters in their natural habitat. You can also jump on a tractor-drawn wagon-train and take a trip through the Goorganga Wetlands. If you’re a history buff, be sure to visit the Proserpine Historical Museum where you can find out all about the region’s sugar cane history, tourism and even its gold mining.

Proserpine is 25kms away from the popular Airlie Beach, a place to shop, party, hit the beach (of course) or swim in the man-made lagoon in the centre of town. You’ll be eager to explore the spectacular Whitsunday Islands like Hamilton Island and Daydream Island, where you can snorkel or dive into the bright, colourful world of the Great Barrier Reef, take a seaplane or helicopter ride or just relax by the beach or pool.

Wot more could you want from a tropical Queensland holiday? Book your Proserpine accommodation with us and discover the country and coastal gems of the Whitsundays.
