Activity itinerary

Kadugannawa (Pass by)
The pass separating the Kandy and Kegalle valleys is known by the name Kadugannawa. For invaders travelling from Colombo, this pass has historically served as their primary route into Kandy. There were several battles going on in the area. When foreign forces were able to take control of Kandy, the Sinhalese were successful in launching a guerilla campaign against the supply route that ran along Kadugannawa. The first foreign nation to have a permanent presence in Kandy was the British. They built a road between Kandy and Colombo to ensure access.
Kegalle (Pass by)
West-central Sri Lankan town of Kegalle (sometimes spelled Kegalla). A junior technical college is located at Kegalle, which is at the base of a sheer rock face. Rice and other agricultural products, as well as precious stones, rubber, and graphite, are produced nearby. The government constructed the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage nearby to care for abandoned or orphaned wild elephants. 18,113 as per 2007 estimates.
