Premiered in 2006, it has staged over 6,500 performances and received more than 12.9 million visitors to date. The show takes place right inside Huaqing Palace, using Mount Li as its natural backdrop and Nine-Dragon Lake as its stage – the very same location where the Tang romance unfolded over 1,200 years ago.
