What you can expect

Embark on a sightseeing tour from Hörnum and accompany a ranger to the Wadden Sea National Par. Discover the pack of playful seals that live on the sandbank, Jungnamensand. Hear interesting facts about these adorable animals as you enjoy the views.
Meet your guide and depart from Hörnum. Cruise towards the Wadden Sea National Park, admiring the beautiful views of the shore. When approaching the seal colony, learn interesting facts about the largest wild animals in Germany and how they came to settle in the area during the 1980s.
Arrive at the sandbank, Jungnamensand, and spend some time watching the playful seals that live there. Learn about their natural habitat, just west of the island of Amrum, and how this area has served as a sanctuary for a species once thought to be extinct in the Baltic. The most likely time to see seals on the trip is two hours before and two hours after low tide.
During the trip, a small net is dropped into the water. When pulling out the net, staff from the Wadden Sea Protection Station explains the sea animals. Later the caught animals will return to the water.
