Begin your experience by learning about astronomy basics, the night's celestial wonders, and Deep Sky Eye, while sitting back in a comfortable zero-gravity chair.
During the experience, a live view of what the Celestron C14 Edge HD telescope (equipped with a fast HyperStar lens) in the dome sees will be projected on the outdoor screen. The images will be shared with you the day after the experience. Deep Sky Eye is home to Atlantic Canada's largest telescope, The Phoenix (25” dobsonian).
Outside, under the beauty of the night sky, learn to navigate using points of reference such as Polaris (North Star) and various constellations.
Every night at Deep Sky Eye is a little different—and that’s part of the magic. From the observing platform, the best telescope (or telescopes) will be chosen for what’s highest, clearest, and most spectacular in the sky.
View through The Phoenix (25” Dobsonian), the 16” Meade Lightbridge, Celestron C9.25 SCT, and the Astro-Physics 6” Planet Fire telescope as you are guided across the Moon, planets, star clusters, glowing nebulae, and distant galaxies. Some showstoppers are seasonal, so what you see depends on the time of year—but under the dark skies of Quinan, the universe is always within reach.
