Know before you book

    • Need to be reasonably confident with falling in water.
    • The experience is conducted on (and in) the ocean so it is recommended wear bathers and/or board shorts, a hat and sun cream.
    • We allow for a maximum of 8 persons per lesson.

What you can expect

  • Standup Surfing is a family owned and run business with three generations involved. The Stand UP Paddle School (SUP for short) is an ASI accredited school with seven qualified instructors including Flat water, Surfing, Downwind and Yoga disciplines. Five of the Instructors are also qualified active lifeguards so you are in good hands if you are keen to learn stand up paddling as a beginner or wish to extend your skills.

    From November to April every year we offer flat water stand up paddling experience every morning from 7.30am till 10.30am at Gnarabup bay which is a quiet sheltered bay near Margaret River. Enjoy a Stand Up Paddling Experience by booking a session with an ASI Accredited Stand Up Paddle Instructor.

    There is a great cafe overlooking the area so you can come down for a meal or coffee too.

    Our family is a living history of Surfing and SUP with our oldest instructor who is over 80 and still instructing and is a legend of the sport. Come and meet the family and experience one of the best locations for SUP paddling..
