Overview

  • Have you ever seen a city underwater?

    Explore the wonders of the ancient Roman city of Baia, the Roman city where luxury was the standard, which today is partly submerged due to the strong volcanic activity of the Phlegraean Fields, the geological area where we find ourselves.

    The phenomenon called bradyseism has slowly brought the level of the earth down over the years, so today the Roman villas that stood in front of the sea are about four metres underwater and the sea has preserved them wonderfully.

    Come with us to see the ancient Roman city of Baia, you can experience the thrill of swimming on an ancient city today inhabited by so much marine life.
    All the remains, being no more than four metres deep, have perfect visibility from the surface and you can easily admire them while snorkelling!

A second dive site: Immediately after snorkelling on the first dive site, we will visit a different one.
Duration: 4 hours: An hour of preparation, an hour on the first site of the Park, an hour on the second, and another hour to take a shower and change.
Two sites of the Sunken Park: We will consecutively visit two different tours of the Baia Submerged Park, about 40/45 minutes each.

Activity itinerary

Once you arrive at the Diving Centre you will take part in a short theoretical lesson led by our instructors, to better explain safety procedures, equipment and how to behave in the water. You will know everything you need to stay safe and enjoy every second of your experience! We will provide you with all the equipment you need, you just need to bring your swimming costume, a towel and clean clothes to change later if you wish. Once ready we will go by boat to the Archaeological Park of Baia where we will admire ancient mosaics, statues, marble floors and all the ancient structures of the Roman city of Baia (loved by emperors and senators) and of course the marine life that populates it today! The tour will last about 45 minutes, following one of the visit routes prepared by the Park, and our guides will always be at your side to give you the best possible support and help and to make you live an unforgettable experience! After the snorkelling activity we will return to the Diving Centre, where you will have showers and changing rooms, and usually there are some refreshments. What are you waiting for?
