Activity itinerary

570 Higashishiokōjichō

Your guide will meet you at a share-cycle "Clew" port located in front of a temple named Seikouin Wagatazizou(located behind the hotel). We will have a briefing time about cycling hand-signs and how to use bicycles so we can enjoy riding safely.

Nishi Honganji

Hongan-ji is the head temple of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha sect and is also referred to as "Nishi Hongan-ji" (Western Hongan-ji). It is famous for its historical buildings, including the registered World Heritage Site grounds, the National Treasures such as the Go-eidō (Hall of Amida) and Amida-dō, the Shoin, and the Hiyun-kaku. The wooden floors feature various intricate patterns, making the site full of attractions beyond just the buildings themselves.

Kagiyacho

We will pass through a local area of Kyoto. A huge building catches your eye. This is the old headquarters of NINTENDO. Its magnificent beauty and historical significance illustrate how it attracts people all over the world. Your guide tells you about how NINTENDO has grown as one of the biggest game companies in Kyoto.

Gion

This street thrived as a Chaya-mati known for tea, with a Kyoto-like landscape with old buildings along a river. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the old traditions and seasonal plants such as cherry blossoms and willows while riding a bicycle.

17 Nanzenji Kusakawachō

We will ride through the city of Kyoto where a long river catches your eye. This is called "Lake Biwa Canal".This beautiful waterway contributed to the development of the city of Kyoto by providing the water to the whole area. You will understand the origins of the culture and industries of the community while learning about its history.

13 Nanzenji Fukuchichō

The Lake Biwa Canal, which links Kyoto and Lake Biwa, is part of the beautiful waterway that has been loved by people. This system was designed to skilfully compensate for the elevation difference between Kyoto and Lake Biwa. This waterway, which combines ancient techniques and wisdom, showcases the creativity and originality of that time.

Heian Shrine (Pass by)

Heian Shrine was established to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the transfer of the capital to Heian-kyo, with Emperor Kanmu, the 50th emperor, as its enshrined deity. The large red torii gate is also a highlight of the shrine.

Nanzen-ji Temple

Nanzen-ji Temple is regarded as particularly special among the Five Mountains of Kyoto. The magnificent main temple and the gate make its presence felt and attract people. Within the precinct, it has a beautiful Japanese garden providing a peaceful space where you can enjoy the seasonal landscapes throughout the year. Here, you can experience Japan's traditional beauty and a tranquil atmosphere, allowing you to spend a soothing moment.

Kamogawa River

Let’s go to a famous spot in Kyoto, the Kamo river. Spend a moment to relax in the riverbed along the river or enjoy cycling on the riverbank. At the end of the tour, get your feet in the water to cool down and feel nature to wrap up your tour wonderfully.
