What you can expect

  • Behind the scenes of art: discover the Depot of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam

Did you know that museums usually display only about six to ten percent of their entire collection? The remaining ninety percent is kept in storage. The Depot of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam does things differently by making all artworks visible.

In this iconic, mirrored building, you walk among some 157.000 art objects. You see museum staff restoring artworks and learn everything about how art is preserved and cared for. There are changing exhibitions on view, ranging from contemporary art to old masters.

And finally: on the roof of the Depot you’ll find an excellent restaurant with a panoramic view over Rotterdam.
