This comprehensive tour offers an incredible opportunity to discover the vibrant cities of Recife and Olinda, combining the highlights of both in a single day.
We start with hotel pickups and a panoramic drive along Boa Viagem beach, one of Brazil's most famous urban shores. Next, at the Catamaran Space, you can enjoy an optional catamaran ride through Recife's “Brazilian Venice” (approx. 30 mins). You'll glide past beautiful sights and learn about the city's history, ending at Marco Zero Square. (Those skipping the catamaran will go directly to Marco Zero by bus.)
Historic Recife on Foot
From Marco Zero, we'll walk along Bom Jesus Street, home to the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, and the Olinda Giant Dolls Embassy (tickets not included) and Pernambuco Embassy (tickets not included), part of the Open Sky Museum. See impressive giant dolls and a short frevo dance presentation. (Each stop is about 20 mins; relax in the Navy Arsenal Square if you prefer.) Around 11:30 AM, we'll head for a delicious lunch with regional flavours (lunch not included).
Discover Olinda: UNESCO World Heritage
After an hour-long lunch break, we'll journey by bus to Olinda, a city recognised as a Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a 50-minute walking tour to Alto da Sé, home to the Sé and Misericórdia Churches. From this vantage point, you'll be treated to the most breathtaking panoramic views of both Recife and Olinda. You'll also have time to browse the nearby craft market for unique souvenirs.
Culture and Crafts in Recife
Returning to Recife, we'll enjoy a panoramic tour of its three islands and landmarks like the Maurício de Nassau Bridge and Republic Square. Our final stop is a 40-minute visit to the Casa da Cultura. This beautiful former prison is now a vibrant centre for regional culture, featuring craft shops and local foods.
Finally, we'll return you to your hotels.
