Join in on the most fun part of our job and help us train the next generation of sleigh dogs! At Tromsø Villmarkssenter, dog sledding is our passion, and summer is when our youngest puppies begin learning the basics of teamwork. Together with our experienced handlers, you will take the puppies on a 1–1.5 hour training hike through the Arctic nature surrounding our husky farm. The puppies are between 4 weeks and around 6 months old, and the training is adapted to their age and development. You'll help with simple exercises, socialisation and confidence-building while enjoying plenty of time to interact, cuddle and take photos. After the hike, gather around the open fire in our cosy Gamme (traditional hut) and enjoy a warm lunch. We serve Bacalao – a traditional Norwegian fish dish with Portuguese roots – or a vegetarian meal if requested in advance, together with homemade cake, coffee and tea. Our Alaskan huskies are born and raised as working dogs, and their welfare always comes first. Every training session is adapted to the puppies' age, fitness and wellbeing, ensuring they have time to learn, play and rest.
