What you can expect

Sibenik is located in the central part of the Croatian Adriatic coast, in the picturesque, indented bay that is influenced by the Krka, one of the most beautiful Croatian karst rivers. Today, Sibenik is the administrative, political, economic and social - cultural centre of the Sibenik - Knin County, which extends along the coast of the Zadar and Split part of the coast, about 100 km long.
The starting point of the old town ramparts is the foot of the fortress of St. Michael. In 1864, part of the walls surrounding the city from the north and south-east were removed. Today, only a part of the ramparts on the north side of Gorizia remains. A double city rampart descending from the fortress of St. Michael down the steep slope to the coast and ending with a large Gothic gate is largely preserved. The western town rampart with a city gate, which descends from the fortress to the sea, was built in the 15th century. to protect Dolac from Turkish attacks.
