Scientists believe Costa Rica is home to over 300,000 species of insects. Incests play a vital role in pollination, provide nutrients to other animals, and disperse seeds.
Large cluster of frog eggs glued to a beautiful green leaf overhanging a forrest stream. Frog eggs are extremely vulnerable to predation and will begin to hatch early when threatened.
The jungle preserves stream is a safe haven for a multitude of amphibian species and many can be viewed emerging from the water.
Careful where you walk! The fer de lance is one of Costa Rica's most venomous species of snakes. Our jungle preserve is a safe space for these unique animals and we teach visitors their importance.
Our jungle preserve is home to a multitude of fungus including mushrooms. Mushrooms communicate via an underground network of mycelium.
