Originating from the Guens who settled in the lake region in 1663 after their arrival from Ghana in the 17th century, "Epe-Ekpe" is a ceremony marked by the taking of the sacred stone called "Kpessosso", which is the central point of all festivities. You can visit if no ceremony is taking place. This celebration marks the beginning of the year for the Guin ethnic group. It does not have a fixed date, but it is generally observed in September each year, although it can also occur in August on rare occasions.
