Spend a day on the waters that surround a hidden Mediterranean jewel with this excursion to the stunning island of Ponza. Far removed from the bustle of Rome, you get a chance to immerse yourself in spectacular blue waters and admire the placid scenery amidst the sea.

You'll meet your guide in the port of Anzio (just 1 hr from Rome by train), where a ferry waits to carry you out onto the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Admire the towns and hilly countryside along the Italian coast as you cruise out to the volcanic bluffs of the Pontine Islands, and then glide past the cliffs of Ponza itself as you make your way to dock.

Once you've arrived, join some fellow travellers for a journey that takes you around the island and shows off the remarkable sights and activities that await you. Lunch is served on board the vessel, with a pasta dish prepared by your captain along with an Italian wine, drinks, snacks, coffee and fruit. Additionally, you'll have free access to drinks during the sail!

If you'd like to go snorkelling, bring your gear and take advantage of some great spots just offshore, or simply go for a swim, explore the grottoes only accessible by sea, and learn about the striking landscape and the ancient communities that make this place unique.

The tour ends with a few free time you can use to explore the charming port, with its bright pastel-painted buildings clustered on the rocky hills, and look out on the deep blue of the sea.
