What you can expect

Begin your journey at Pico dos Barcelos, where you can enjoy superb views over the city of Funchal. Continue to the iconic Eira do Serrado viewpoint, which offers a fantastic panorama of the famous Curral das Freiras (Nun’s Valley), the deepest valley in Madeira.

On the way back, visit the Cristo Rei viewpoint. Depending on the time of year, you may have the chance to witness a magnificent sunset and a breathtaking view over Funchal. The Cristo Rei statue is truly stunning. From here, take in excellent views of the city and the crystal-clear waters below.

The lower viewpoint, located down a flight of steps from the statue, is well worth a visit, whether you go partway or all the way down. The sea views from there are simply superb.
