“We were delighted by the entire experience through the day, The ropeway took us to a point from where Fuji was absolutely magnificent. ” — *KolkataBabu**
The sacred site of Mt Fuji has long been a source of artistic inspiration for the Japanese through the centuries – and now for any who behold it in all its snow-capped glory. A trip to Japan can hardly be complete without making the modern pilgrimage from Tokyo to Mt Fuji – a Unesco-recognised “Special Place of Scenic Beauty” since 2013.
We depart from Shinjuku early in the morning and start the drive to cover the following attractions:
Lake Kawaguchi-ko: This gateway to Mt Fuji is one of the famous Five Lakes surrounding the volcano. It’s a must-see for its exquisite scenery and colourful flora.
Arakura Sengen Park and Shrine: We’ll stop by the Arakura Sengen shrine, a relic from Japan’s ancient religion still practised to this day.
Oshino Hakkai (Eight Ponds): We’ll get stunning views of Mt. Fuji around the traditional Japanese rural village. Stroll around the famous ponds where the spring water is from Mt. Fuji and munch on fresh fruit and local delicacies.
Finally, we’ll stop off at the famous Gotemba Premium Outlets for a spot of retail therapy before returning to Tokyo. What a day!
IMPORTANT: Please note that there will be an itinerary change for Autumn season (1st Nov - 23rd Nov), the tour will be going to Kawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival in this period.
