    Afterwards, stroll by Ho Chi Minh's residence, a traditional wood-tiled house on stilts. Enjoy the old architectural designs illustrating the simplicity and modesty of the leader's life. Than pass by the ancient One Pillar Pagoda, built in 1049 AD under the Ly Dynasty, and stop by the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam.

    Finally, head to scenic Hoan Kiem Lake, a symbol of Hanoi. The lake is a popular place for locals and tourists alike. Having worked up an appetite, relish a delicious hot bowl of pho bo—authentic Vietnamese beef noodles—before returning to your hotel.
