What you can expect

  • Set off on a guided hiking tour and discover a wild and scenic bay near the village of Monolithos. Then, explore the remains of Monolithos Castle and watch the sun set over the Aegean Sea.
Depart from the characteristic village of Monolithos before descending into a little red sand bay located between tall cliffs. This wild bay, accessible only by foot, will stun you with its natural beauty.
Crystal-clear waters and a sea breeze make this the ideal spot for a brief stop before climbing up to the castle, which is situated on a rock that emerges from the green valley.
Monolithos Castle, built on the 236m high monolith that gives it its name, has never been conquered. All that remains today is a portion of the outer fortifications and two 15th-century chapels with views of Akramitis Mountain, Halki Island, and the vast Aegean Sea.
