Amble down quaint alleyways, snap images on the shores of stunning lakes, and enjoy the fresh country air of this beautiful National Park that inspired Romantic poets, including Wordsworth.

Depart Euston railway station for a scenic train journey north to Oxenholme in the Lake District, arriving in the late morning. Take to the winding country roads to check out beautiful views of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake. Pause for some photos at the shores of inspirational Esthwaite Water, the lovely, lesser-known lake where Beatrix Potter penned her cherished children's stories.

Continue along to Hill Top, Potter's charming 17th-century stone farmhouse. Climb creaking wooden staircases to where she wrote her famous storiesand spot cheeky rabbits nibbling grass in the garden as you delve into Potter's whimsical world.

Meander through quaint alleyways in the medieval village of Hawkshead before heading out to Coniston Water for a relaxing lake cruise. Stop for a delicious English Cream Tea at Lindeth Howe, a gorgeous country house hotel in the village of Bowness. Set in 6 acres (24 ha) of private garden, classic estate was the Potters' family home.
