Afterwards, enjoy an international buffet lunch before heading to Hellfire Pass, one of the most powerful historical sites in Thailand, built during World War II using the labour of hundreds of thousands of prisoners of war and Asian civilians.

Pay tribute to the Allied POWs who lost their lives during the construction of the infamous “Death Railway.” This peaceful and well-preserved memorial features plaques from the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands. Recommended: Take a guided walk (30–45 minutes) to fully absorb the history. Just a 5-minute walk away is the Thailand–Burma Railway Centre, a museum with rare documents, photographs, models, and artefacts that reveal the lives and sacrifices of the POWs and labourers during WWII.

Hellfire Pass, known in Thai as Chong Khao Khat, is one of the most powerful historical landmarks in Thailand, located in Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province. It is part of the famous Thailand–Burma Railway (Death Railway) built during World War II using forced labour from Allied prisoners of war and Asian civilians. The name “Hellfire Pass” came from the haunting scene during construction, when prisoners worked day and night cutting through solid mountain rock by hand under torchlight, creating a fire-like glow that resembled the gates of hell. Today, the site stands as a peaceful memorial honouring those who suffered and lost their lives, transforming history into a place of remembrance, reflection, and learning.
