As a child was raised in Huế, I grew up eating these dishes almost every day. This tour is not just about food - it’s about sharing the flavours, hidden stories, and pride of my hometown with you. :)
Start with a welcoming drink - Sugar cane juice to cool down. Then we begin with Cơm Hến - tiny mussel rice, one of Huế’s most beloved local dishes, made by a local Huế auntie, which makes the flavour even more authentic. Often enjoyed for breakfast or a light meal, this simple yet bold dish combines unique flavours and textures that truly reflect everyday local life.
Next, we explore Huế’s traditional cakes: bánh bèo, bánh nậm, and bánh lọc. These delicate steamed rice cakes are deeply rooted in the city’s history, influenced by both royal and everyday cuisine, and are now signature specialities of Huế.
Then comes the highlight: Bún Bò Huế. The broth is rich, deep, slightly spicy, and intensely aromatic – completely different from versions you may have tried elsewhere.
After that, we try bánh mì thịt xíu, a Huế-style braised pork bánh mì that you can only truly find here. Smaller in size but packed with deeply marinated pork, every bite is full of rich, layered flavour.
We then enjoy chè Huế, the city’s famous sweet dessert. From mung bean to tapioca coconut, these desserts are known for their balanced sweetness and refined taste.
To finish the tour, we experience “nhậu” - Vietnamese drinking culture at a real local spot. We’ll sit down like locals and enjoy cold Huda beer (or any drink you prefer), surrounded by locals
This is more than a food tour. It’s Huế through the eyes of someone who calls it home. That's how I describe it :)
