La Villita Historic Arts Village

Walk through La Villita, one of San Antonio’s oldest areas, where the city’s early civilian storey took shape after 1718. Pass the Arneson River Theatre and continue along the River Walk towards Marriage Island, the site connected to the first Catholic Mass in the San Antonio area in 1691. Along the way, Victor shares the storey of the Canary Islanders and the monument that honours their role in establishing the first civilian settlement. The walk ends at San Fernando Cathedral, one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States and the perfect setting for the final chapter of San Antonio’s founding storey.

San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral
