What you can expect

Meet at the Antelope Canyon Public Launch Ramp near Antelope Point in Page, Arizona. Begin with a guide-led safety briefing, kayak instruction, and equipment setup before launching onto Lake Powell.

Paddle across the clear blue water towards Antelope Canyon, surrounded by red rock cliffs, desert mesas, sandstone formations, and the dramatic contrast of blue water against orange, red, and golden canyon walls.

Paddle through Lake Powell and into Antelope Canyon, where the canyon walls tower over 150 feet overhead and the scenery becomes more dramatic and beautiful throughout the canyon. Paddle between cliffs in tall red sandstone cliffs of Antelopes famous Slot Canyon. Enjoy smooth sculpted canyon walls, and the reflective calm emerald waters of Lake Powell.

The kayak route is usually about 5 miles return, depending on Lake Powell water levels and weather conditions. Use double sit-on-top kayaks, making the tour beginner-friendly while still enjoyable for experienced paddlers. The guide helps with paddling tips, route direction, safety, pacing, and local knowledge.

After kayaking into Antelope Canyon, beach your kayak and begin the guided hiking portion through the slot canyons of Lower Antelope Canyon. This hike lets you step off the water and walk into the famous Antelope Canyon slot canyon landscape while avoiding the large crowds and mid-day heat.

The hiking portion highlights narrow sandstone passageways, sculpted slot canyon walls, twisting rock corridors, smooth wave-like formations, and colourful canyon textures shaped by wind and water over time.

The Antelope Canyon slot canyon hike is usually about 1 mile return and takes about 1 hour, depending on water levels, trail access, and conditions. The trail is mostly flat but may include sand, rock, and muddy areas near the kayak landing.

As you walk through the canyon, see red, orange, pink, purple, bronze, and golden sandstone walls depending on the sunlight and time of day. This section is especially scenic for photography, nature lovers, and travellers who want to experience a narrow desert slot canyon.

Throughout the tour, photograph Lake Powell, Lower Antelope Canyon, Antelope Canyon slot canyon walls, towering red cliffs, blue water, desert landscapes, sandstone formations, and reflections on the water. The guide shares information about Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, local geology, water levels, wildlife, desert ecology, and the natural forces that shaped the canyon.
