The tour begins at our office on Via Crociferi, one of the baroque gems of the city. From there, you’ll head to the Monastery of the Benedictines, one of the largest monastic complexes in Europe, where your journey through history and taste begins.
Next, you’ll enjoy an aperitif with local wine, accompanied by a selection of traditional Sicilian cold cuts and cheeses. As you continue towards the Pescheria area, Catania’s most famous fish market, you’ll taste one of two street food specialities of your choice: a cone of fried fishor a horse meatball– a true icon of Catanese street food.
Arriving at Piazza Duomo, the beating heart of the city and a symbol of Sicilian Baroque, you’ll savour the arancino, one of the most beloved treats of local cuisine. To refresh, you’ll stop at one of the classic Catanese kiosks to enjoy a traditional drink, Seltz, freshly prepared on the spot.
The tour continues along Via Etnea, passing through Piazza Stesicoro and the evocative Roman Amphitheatre, a witness to the city’s long history. To end on a sweet note, you’ll enjoy a dessert: ricotta cannolo, Sicilian cassata, orgranita, depending on the season.

Get ready to enjoy an authentic experience tailored just for you! This private tour, designed for groups of up to 15 people, will take you to the vibrant heart of Catania to discover the flavours and secrets of its legendary street food scene. You’ll meet your local guide at the Sicilying office, located on Via Crociferi, one of the city’s most beautiful Baroque streets. From there, your journey will begin through the scents and history of Catania. The first stop is the famous Pescheria, the lively fish market (open only in the morning), where you’ll sample local cured meats and cheeses, and choose between a cone of fried fish or grilled horse-meat meatballs.
Next, you'll head to Piazza Duomo and Piazza Università, two jewels of the historic centre, before refreshing yourself with a traditional drink, Seltz, freshly prepared at a local kiosk. After walking through the city’s biggest market, you’ll taste two icons of Catania's street food: the cipollina and the arancino, served in some of the city’s most iconic bakeries and cafés.
The tour continues along Via Etnea, passing by Villa Bellini and the Roman Amphitheatre in Piazza Stesicoro, until reaching the sweet finale. You’ll choose between a cannolo filled with ricotta, a cassata, or a Sicilian granita (depending on the season). At the end of the tour, you’ll receive a small keepsake guide listing all the specialities you tasted along the way.
