Description

Experience the dramatic underwater wonders of the Hen and Chicken Islands on this diving adventure. Take a charter off New Zealand's shores and go on 2 self-guided dives into the amazing aquatic landscapes surrounding the islands, getting the chance to see fish, sharks, and even whales.

Start your day by meeting your crew and heading to the Mangawhai Heads Marina, where you board a dive charter and set out into the water. The Hen and Chicken Islands, first sighted and named by James Cook in 1769, are noted for their astounding bird life and marine diversity. Suit up as you arrive at your first diving spot, then splash into clear waters with up with 65 feet (20 m) of visibility.

Divers of all skill levels can enjoy the calm waters and the abundance of life around the islands' shores. Discover enormous kelp-covered boulders, nests of crayfish, and colourful shoals of fish like goatfish, blue maomao, red moki, and demoiselles. After your initial dive, enjoy lunch on the boat and some free time to relax at one of the islands' sheltered bays before heading to your next location. As you explore the underwater landscapes, you may even get the chance to spot native sharks, dolphins, and even whales gliding by. Your tour comes to an end after you towel off from your second dive and head back to the marina in Mangawhai.
